May 1st 2006 - RockBEAT 1.3.3 now available. Minor update
- Added two text fields for Song Titles and Bar Names/Descriptions
- No more crashes if AHI is unable to be opened.
- Drumkit samples are released on exit now
- Small changes made to help bring up stability on Quit
August 13th 2006 - RockBEAT 2.0.1 - Bugfix release!
- RockBEAT wasnt opening the beats for some bars of the last opened drum sample (it was saving them ok, but not reopening)
- The tracks display got slightly messed up after finishing playback of a song with repeat switched off.
July 13th 2006 - RockBEAT 2.0 is ready. It now has different volume drum hits! (See the screenshot at the bottom of this page)
May 24th 2006 - RockBEAT 1.3.4 now available and much more stable!
January 3rd 2006 - RockBEAT 1.3.2 now available. Another minor update.
- AHI device is released on exit now, so apps such as Audio Evolution and HD-REC can start after quitting RockBEAT.
- "Scroll while playing" is now optional. Sometimes its useful to turn off scrolling, so you can edit a portion of a pattern while it loops. This setting is remembered on quitting.
November 24th 2005 - RockBEAT 1.3.1 now available.
I'm now cleaning up my timer and AHI IORequests PROPERLY when quitting, so its far less crashy on exit. System got unstable after quitting RockBEAT, applications around it would just die. Important Bugfix. One bug left: It crashes sometimes on startup with the OS4 Prerelease 3, and for one betatester I know, it crashes him on startup everytime. I will fix this when I have a newer version of OS4.
November 21st 2005 - RockBEAT 1.3 now available. I've added two highly requested features
- Position LED's light up while playing, and scrolls automatically
- You can now switch between drumkits, and it will remember the last drumkit you used.
November 5th 2005 - RockBEAT 1.2.1 now available. Important bugfix
- The WAV files that were generated by RockBEAT had an incorrect
header value, but now they load up in HD-REC perfectly. An important
bugfix, as this is the whole point of this program, to import into
other studio apps.
October 10th 2005 - RockBEAT 1.2 now available. Another minor release
- "Play From Current Position" button added. So if you want to start playback of your song from a certain position, it is now possible.
- The size and position of the main window is now automatically remembered and saved.
- New smaller button graphics, as requested. Scrolling in the window doesnt seem to stutter the playback anymore.
August 24th 2005 - RockBEAT 1.1 now available. It fixes a few teething problems
- No more grim reaper alerts when starting then stopping playback quickly
I removed an AbortIO() call that wasnt really needed.
- Theres no more excess silence at the end of wav files for individually
saved tracks
- Button graphics are freed up when quitting now
- All message ports are emptied and deleted when quitting. No more
"unfreed signals" error messages now, and I think it has brought up
stability a little.
- Drum samples limit changed to 20. It used to crash after more than 10
samples were loaded due to a silly programming error. i.e. looping up
to 20 times when there were only 10 available spaces in the array.
- Adding new samples to the drumsamples/ folder will no longer make
old projects invalid
- Better compatibility with some WAVs. RockBEAT used to assume a certain
WAV header value was a always certain size, but I've found out it can be
different.
- I have included a cool cymbal sample to the default drumsamples/ set
August 19th 2005 - RockBEAT 1.0 is now available for download!
